Let us worship the Saviour and live for Him.

Many people, who never attend Church, claim to live by the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount. They don’t make time for worshipping  God, but they tell us that the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12) is their favourite Bible passage. This is because the Beatitudes contains the ideals by which they live their lives.

Are we to choose to follow Jesus the Teacher without also choosing to trust Jesus the Saviour? No! We are to trust Jesus the Saviour as well as following Jesus the Teacher.

God calls us to worship Him. Some people think that worshipping God is a thing of the past, but they try to hold on to some of the moral teaching of God’s Word.

Who are we to imagine that we can pick out what we like in God’s Word and ignore what we don’t like?

Many centuries have passed since the time when the Bible was written. We may think that we can now select the parts of God’s Word we want to take seriously and pay no attention to other parts that we feel are out-of-date. Have we forgotten that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)? He is more than our Teacher. He is also our Saviour.

Let us worship our Saviour, and let us live for Him.
