Life is full of ups and downs.

Life is full of ups and downs. There are high-points – “The fire of the Lord fell” and “all the people said, ‘The Lord, He is God’” ( 1 Kings 18:37-39), and there are low-points – ”O Lord, take away my life” (1 Kings 19:4). Lord, we are so changeable. Sometimes, we’re full of joy. At other times, we’re at the point of despair. We find ourselves in a turmoil of confused and confusing emotions. What are we to do? What can we do? Can we pull ourselves together? We try – but we fail. Lord, help us to look beyond our own efforts. Help us to look to You, to believe that You can change us, You can come to us in our weakness, You can give us Your strength – the strength that we need to love You more and bring more glory to Your Name, the Name of our salvation.

  1. How true this is! I remember when my Mother was told she would have to give up one leg because of diabetes, and then was told she had breast cancer, and Mom was taken to a heavenly home, when she left the hospital. Around us so many people are dealing with major health issues, and we don’t know what they may be going through because we have never been in their shoes, but we know that they are down one moment and they can be up the next moment. These people need our prayers. And in our own lives, other things going on in our lives may bring us down one moment and the moment we are up again. As the song says, “Every Hour I Need Thee”

  2. Thanks, Rosie. None of us knows what may lie ahead of us. We must pray that the Lord will be our strength – and we must ask Him to help us to be faithful in prayer for those who are going through hard times. May we always know that His grace is sufficient for each and every one of us (2 Corinthians 12:9). God bless you, Rosie.
