The Gospel raises questions in our minds. It makes us wonder about the meaning, purpose and direction of our life. It gets us started thinking in a different way, asking questions about the way we live – “Is all there is, or is there something more?” When Jesus starts speaking to us in the places of our life where no-one else seems to reach, we’re taken beneath the surface of our life. We’re taken into the deep places of our heart. These are the places where we think about things that we rarely think about, when our life is filled with so many other things. The Gospel challenges our way of thinking and our way of living. It calls it in question. This is only the beginning of the Lord working in us. The Gospel leads us beyond the questions. It points us to God’s answer to our questions. It points us to Jesus, our Saviour. It calls us to look to Him and find that, in Him, life has meaning, purpose and direction.
