Jesus, Paul … and you (What will your future be?)

“I am Jesus, whom you (Saul of Tarsus) are persecuting … I am sending you to the Gentiles to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me” (Acts 26:15,17-18).

Jesus revealed Himself to Saul of Tarsus (see Acts 9). His life was never the same again. He was completely transformed. He became a man in love – with Jesus, a man on fire – for Jesus, a man on a mission – for Jesus. He became Paul the Apostle. He had such a high calling – “to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” He was given the strength that he needed to fulfil this high calling to the glory of God and the salvation of many people in so many different places. What great things Jesus did for Paul, in Paul and through Paul – and what great blessing came to so many people and places. It began on the day when the persecutor met the Saviour, the day when the persecutor was set on a new pathway, when the persecutor became the preacher. Whatever your past may have been, Jesus may have a wonderful future planned for you. Will you say “Yes” to Jesus and the future He has planned for you? I don’t know what He has planned for you, but there’s one thing I do know – it will be a much better future than the one you’re planning for yourself. Life with Jesus is always better than life without Him.
