2 Timothy

This letter was written by Paul, an older servant of the Lord. He sent it to Timothy, a young pastor. This letter is full of Gospel truth. Paul encourages young Timothy to be faithful to the Lord. He warns him against being deceived by those who are enemies of Christ and His Gospel. Our faith is to be grounded in Scripture, the inspired Word of God, God’s own testimony concerning “salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (3:15). Those whose faith is grounded in Scripture, have this high calling: “make the preaching of the Good News your life’s work” (chapter 4). In this, we are to follow God’s example: “I have kept the faith” (chapter 4).
