basn’t all victory for David. Sometimes, it was defeat, If, when we read David’s Psalms, we’re ever tempted to set David on a pedestal and think of him as some kind of superhuman hero, we should read about David and Bathsheba. When we read about David’s failure, we should read, also, about Jesus’ triumph over the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). When we think of David as a great king, we must, also, think of Jesus. He’s so much greater than David. He’s our great Saviour.
