When we think about our salvation, we must not think about it as our own achievement. We must, always, remember to come to God, with humility. We must, always, remember to give all the glory to God. Before God’s Word speaks to us about our faith, it speaks to us about God’s grace: “By grace, you have been saved, through faith” (Ephesians 2:8). Coming to God with humility and giving all the glory to God: this is very important if we are to avoid falling into the trap of becoming proud of ourselves. When God gives his salvation to us, He tells us that “no human being is to boast in the presence of God” (1 Corinthians 1:29). May we never forget what the Lord says to us, when he tells us that we are, only, to “boast of the Lord” (1 Corionthians 1:31).
