“With your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9).
To Abraham, the Word of God was spoken: “All peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3). In the one hundredth Psalm, we have a call to worship: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth” (verse 1). As we move into the New Testament, we come to the call to witness: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1;8).
Let us listen to the Word of the Lord. Let us worship the Lord. Let us witness for the Lord.
As we listen to the Word of the Lord, and as we worship him and withess for him, may we catch a glimpse of something so much bigger than our own exoerience of God’s salvation. May we see where God’s plan of salvation is leading us: people from evey nation and every generation will be gathered together in the heavenly, glorious and eternal kingdom of God.
