Loving him who first loved me

How lovely is your dwelling-place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God (Psalm 84:1-2).

Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you (Psalm 84:4).

We love the house of the Lord, the place where we gather together to worship the Lord. Why do we love the house of the Lord? It’s because we love the Lord. Why do we love the Lord? “We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Our love for the Lord is always and only a responsive love: “Loving him who first loved me.”
