The greatest joy

“My heart rejoices in the Lord!” (1 Samuel 2:1).

Hannah had been blessed by the Lord – and she rejoiced in him. We have been blessed by the Lord – and we rejoice in him.

The joy that comes to us from the Lord – this is the greatest joy of all. The joy of the Lord – this is the joy that stays with us through all the changing circumstances of our life.

I’m not saying that we always feel joyful. What I am saying is this – our joy comes from the Lord, and he’s always with us. Our feelings may tell us that God is no longer with us. His Word tells us that this is a lie that Satan wants us to believe. Let us believe the truth of God – not the lie of Satan! Whatever our feelings may say to us, God’s Word, still, says this to us – “I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20).
