Pharaoh’s fantasy

“But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and did not let the people go” (Exodus 8:32; 9:7,35). “Then Pharaoh said to Moses, “Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.”” (Exodus 10:28). “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 11:9).

Pharaoh thought that he could keep on resisting the Lord – and get away with it. He was wrong! The Lord was going to fulfil his purpose of salvation – and Pharaoh could do nothing about it! Pharaoh was only delaying the inevitable – but he couldn’t stop it happening!

May there be less trying to get our own way – and more walking in the Lord’s way.
