Kept by the power of God

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

For every one of us, there are times when we feel like we can’t go on, times when we feel like giving up. We remember times of blessing in our lives. We remember times when our faith was strong, times when we were rejoicing in the Lord. These times seem to us to be so far away and so long ago. Is there any hope of the times of blessing coming again, or have they gone forever? We focus so much on our feelings, and our heads go down. Is there a way out of this sad situation? We need to remember that we are not on our own. The Lord is with us. We feel like we’re on our own, but God’s Word tells us something different. We are being “kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5). When we feel like giving up, may God help us to remember this: we are kept by the power of God.
