‘“I am the Alpha and the Omega, (A and Z)” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty”’ (Revelation 1:8).
Here, we read about the eternal God. He has no beginning. He has no ending. He is the eternal “I am”: “God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:14). This is where words fail us. Our words take us so far, but, when we’re speaking about God, we must say that our words are not enough. What are we to do? We worship God. As we worship him, we use words to speak of him, but we must always remember that God is so much greater than all of our words about him.
