“It will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you” (Matthew 10:20).
The disciples were being trained for something big, bringing the Good News of Christ to many people. We read about the great things that happened in the Acts of the Apostles. When we speak about the Acts of the Apostles, there’s something we must never forget: this was more than something human – people speaking to other people; this was the Spirit of the Lord, working in mighty power.
Twenty centuries have come and gone since the time of the Acts of the Apostles. Still, the Word of the Lord comes to us, “It will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Real witness for the Lord is more than our speaking for the Lord. It’s the Lord speaking through us.
