Responding to God’s Word (12): Wonderful grace of Jesus, greater than all my sin

The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to him (Ezra 8:22).

Here, we have a precious promise which God gives to “everyone who looks to him.” We read about the God of grace, and we read about the grace of God. The promise comes to us from the God of grace. The promise invites us to receive the grace of God, as we look to the Lord. What will it mean to receive the grace of God? It will mean looking away from ourselves so that we can focus our attention on the God of grace. How do we focus our attention on the God of grace? We turn our eyes upon Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. We see how great a Saviour he is. We look at Jesus Christ, crucified for us. In faith, we receive the great salvation that he offers to “everyone who looks to him.” We rejoice in our Saviour, giving thanks to him for his great salvation.
