An abandoned life or an abundant life?

An abandoned life or an abundant life?

There are times, for all of us, when we our heads go down and we feel that we have been abandoned by God. Life has a way of making us feel like this? What are we to do when it feels like God is far away from us? Let us remember the words of Jesus: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10) Where does the feeling of being abandoned come from? It comes from our enemy, “the thief.” Where does our calling to an abundant life come from? It comes from the Lord, who calls us on to a greater and deeper experience of what it means to receive from the Lord a more abundant life and to live this more abundant life for him.We will have our downs as well as our ups. Let us pray that, in all of life, with its many ups and its many downs, we may never forget that the Lord is nearer to us than we think he is, even in times when life becomes very difficult for us.
