My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2).
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 124:8).
What is the help that we receive from the Lord? As I was thinking about this question, several words came into my mind: love, grace, mercy, faith, hope, glory.
I thought about the love that the Lord has for each one of us. It’s eternal love. It’s love that never comes to an end.
I thought about God’s amazing grace. It brings such great blessing into our lives.
I thought about the mercy of God. He sees how much and how often we have sinned against him, but this does not stop him loving us. He keeps on loving us, when we fail in our love for him.
We have so many questions and it seems that there are so few answers, then we remember that there is one question that has been answered: “What must I do to be saved? Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved! (Acts 16:30-31).
We wonder about the future? What will it hold for us? What will it bring our way? Then, we remember the words of Jesus, “In my Father’s house, there are many rooms … I am going there to prepare a place for you… I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:2-3).
As I thought of these things, the word, “glory”, came to mind. In Christ, the glory has come down to us, and, now, we are being prepared for glory. We’re looking forward to being with the Lord forevermore.
Glory be to the Lord, the God of our full salvation, the God of our eternal salvation.
