“He has risen” – Jesus has triumphed over death.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:5-6).

When we speak to the world concerning Jesus Christ – what are we to say? Are we to restrict ourselves to emphasizing his words – “Love our enemies” (Matthew 5:44)? There are plenty of people who tell us that we should say nothing more than that.

Was Jesus no more than a teacher of morality? We may emphasize the message of love that comes to us from Jesus’ parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). We may emphasize Jesus’ words from the cross – “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:24). Jesus spoke about love and forgiveness – where do we go from here? Can we go an further than the cross? If Jesus was no more than a teacher of morality – we cannot get beyond the cross. For a teacher of love and forgiveness – the cross was the end of the road. For Jesus – was the cross the end?

A lot of wisdom. Every parable that our Lord spoke, was thought-provoking. Another pondering, scriptural can be found WHEN OUR LORD SAID in — Luke 9:59 “And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.”

    AND THE LORD REPLIED IN

    Luke 9:60

“Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.”
