And the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel, of the tribe of Judah: and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, and with ability, intelligence, knowledge, and craftsmanship… ”
First, there is the gift of the Spirit of God. Then, there are the gifts of the Spirit of God. Greater than all the gifts that are given to us is the gift of the Spirit of God, living in our hearts: “God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of love. We thank God for all his good gifts, but, above all, we must thank him for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and, as we use the gifts that God has given to us, we must always say, “Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness” (Psalm 115:1).
