A hint of something more (Travelling Through God’s Word: Leviticus, Part Two).

Leviticus

Here, we focus on three short phrases: “without blemish“, “make atonement” and “as the Lord commanded.”

Each of thesce phrases point us forward to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. What a wonderful Saviour he is! In perfect obedience to God the Father, the sinless Son of God, offered himself as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

What are we to say about what we read about in Leviticus? There’s a hint of something more, a glimpse into something better. If what we read about, in Leviticus, seems strange to us, let us look beyond Leviticus to Jesus, and may the Lord fill our hearts with his joy.
