“Great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:23).

Every day, we stand between the past and the future. We look back. We look forward. We look back and we see the faithfulness of God. We look forward and we see the faithfulness of God. Looking back, we give thanks for God’s faithfulness. Looking forward, we put our trust in God’s faithfulness. God is faithful. He loves us with a faithful love. His love never fails.

Each time we gather for worship, we celebrate God’s faithful love. His love is the one true love. There is no love like the love of God. Our circumstances are changeable. Our feelings are unreliable. Our God is faithful. His love never changes. He never stops loving us. God has not kept His distance from us. He has come near to us. God has not kept His silence. He has spoken to us. God has not left us in our sin. He has redeemed us.

All that God has done for us can be summed up in one word – Jesus! Jesus is ‘God with us’. Jesus is God’s Word to us. Jesus is our Saviour. We think about the past. We think about the future. We think about Jesus. We think about His love for us. He has loved us in the past. He will keep on loving us as we move on into the future. What about our love for Him? Let’s be honest. We need to love Him more.

Here are some words to help you to love Jesus more.

‘More about Jesus would I know, more of His grace to others show; More of His saving fulness see, More of His love who died for me. More about Jesus let me learn, More of His holy will discern; Spirit of God, my Teacher be, showing the things of Christ to me. More about Jesus, in His Word, holding communion with my Lord; Hearing His voice in every line, making each faithful saying mine. More about Jesus, on His throne, riches in glory all His own; More of His Kingdom’s sure increase, more of His coming, Prince of Peace.’

May God help each of us to love Jesus more.
